This is one of a few planter boxes I have made. This planter box was built for GrassHopper Gardens for their client at Wesley Rest Home in Mt Eden.
This planter box is approximately 4meters long and 700mm wide but 1.1 meters tall. It is part of a complete revamp of the outdoor area of the dementia ward at the home and once the rest of the works is completed will be a far more relaxing place for the residents to enjoy.
I line all my planter boxes with PVC to stop any of the treatments from the timber getting into the soil, this is particularly important if there will be edible plants in them.
This particular job was made harder as the ground was full of rocks and in an enclosed courtyard it was brutally hot trying to dig them out by hand as the post hole borer couldn’t get through it.
