I have done a few different shelving projects but a few stand out.

I particularly enjoy the live plywood exposed edged shelves I’ve done as I think plywood looks awesome. The trick with them however is they need to be on piece shelves to avoid any join lines in the surfaces, this means concealed support systems. 

I’ve worked with a few ideas but have landed on a great system that is easy to machine and is strong. Getting a local fabricator to make some brackets I’ve designed for myself; it all goes together pretty easy. These can be floating or inset, with the inset shelves having hidden side rails to make them even stronger.
